Osteria N.1 is an Italian restaurant in Berlin-Kreuzberg, at Kreuzbergstraße 71 by Viktoriapark, open since 1977. It sits in a tree-lined inner courtyard and has four spaces – the Hof, a summer garden, a heated winter garden and the historic dining room – with 250 seats in all. It serves pizza, house-made pasta, fresh fish and a new daily menu every day, from noon to midnight.

At Kreuzbergstraße 71, 10965 Berlin, in the Kreuzberg district, on the quiet side of Viktoriapark. The restaurant isn't on the street: you come in through the gate with the green sign, and the courtyard is behind the building. It's about a ten-minute walk from Mehringdamm U-Bahn station and about twelve from Platz der Luftbrücke.

We're open every day, from 12:00 to midnight, public holidays included. The kitchen stays open for the whole service, so you can eat in the afternoon or late at night too.

Yes. We make tagliatelle, ravioli and gnocchi fresh in our own kitchen every day, and the sauces change with the season.

Yes, always — and not as an afterthought: seasonal vegetables are at the centre of a good part of the daily menu. Mention it when you sit down and we'll tell you every option available that day, often more than the written ones.

We do not make gluten-free pizza. If you have an allergy or an intolerance, tell us when you book or at the table and we will be straight with you about what we can serve you that day and what we can't.

Yes, and it's the main reason people come here. We have a tree-filled inner courtyard (the Hof), a summer garden, and a covered, heated winter garden that lets you sit outside almost all year.

Very. In the courtyard children play while the adults stay at the table; there are high chairs and portions made for them. In the afternoons and on Sundays the Hof is full of families from the neighbourhood.

Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome in the courtyard and the outdoor gardens. We'll happily bring a bowl of water.

Yes: the entrance is step-free and the toilet is wheelchair accessible.

Yes. The winter garden suits groups of up to fifty, and for weddings or larger parties the whole courtyard can be taken exclusively for up to two hundred and fifty. Yes, from a team dinner to a summer party with the whole restaurant. We make the invoice out to your company, you can pay by bank transfer, and we agree a menu or buffet at a fixed price per person. There's a projector, a microphone and a sound system. In winter the heated winter garden is the right room for a Christmas party.

We're a neighbourhood trattoria, not a special-occasion restaurant: mid-range prices. You can eat a pizza with a glass of wine, or have the full run of antipasto, pasta, main course and dessert.

Yes, we accept the major credit and debit cards as well as cash.

There's free street parking on Kreuzbergstraße and the side streets, though finding a space at peak times takes patience. In the evening the U-Bahn is easier: U6 and U7 at Mehringdamm, U6 at Platz der Luftbrücke.
